My Distributor Choice
When choosing a Distributor I would recomend the 009 Distributor.
Now I am not going to be running a stock 009 "Dizzy". I, for one, have never enjoyed the constant setting
of points. I have had a lot of trouble with points because I do not think they are made that good any
more. So I am going to be using the COMPU FIRE inside my Distributor. The reason for this is that I have
had a lot of very good things to say by them.

I know of some who DID NOT read the instructions BEFORE installing the unit so it did not work. One of
the more common problems with this compu fire is that the new owner did not read the instructions and
hooked it up BACKWARDS. DON'T take your unit to a mechanic who works on other foreign cars ( like
Toyata for example ).

I know someone who did this and then claimed that the unit was defective. The Dealer told him that He
would gladly replace the unit if He did not hook it up backswards and a short test would very if the unit
was indeed defective. The guy never sent it back and then started telling others how these things were a
bunch of crap....... nothing could be farther than the truth. This one guy talked another friend into
returning his unit without evern trying it cause He listened to the first one instead of trusting the dealer.

I had one of these units on my old VW and it was still runing 6 years after I installed it. In fact when I sold
my last buggy, that very 009 with the compu fire was still runing in the buggy! Another best part of this
compu fire was that I NEVER had to change plugs! It made such a good charge that the plugs never
needed to be replaced! Get one and you can't go wrong. The money you save on points, capacitors, and
plugs make this a great addition to your Buggy.
Now when I say Compu Fire, that is what I mean. The one I got is from Air Cooled Parts.com and it is the
right one. There is another one out there that is spelled differently...... not the same. Another confusion
that tends to arise is that Acu Fire units sometimes get labeled as Compu Fire, A little investigation will
prove valuable as some people on the internet say "Compu Fire" like "coke". That is, they THINK its the
same when it is not. This is where a lot of confusion comes into to play. I also did some research on other
units and the failure rate is worse than ever. So be careful when you pick a unit to go into yo dizzy, and
please take the time to read instructions.
